WV Fire Safety Summit (Abbreviated Evening Session)

This evening session is geared for those not able to attend the daytime session, particularly for volunteer fire and community service organization.  A dinner will be held for the attendees at 1700 hrs. Sponsored by the NFPA & WV Fire Marshall’s office.

The purpose of this summit is to bring together all stakeholders who have an interest in protecting property and life from the devastation of fires.  These stakeholders include but are not limited to:  Fire Service organizations, Community Service organizations, Industry leaders, Seniors, Family and Children Advocacy groups; this summit is for all willing and able to learn, share, and network with others within communities.  Topics covered will include

  • West Virginia Fire Data and the WV Fire Problem vs. the National Fire Problem
  • Public Education Resources
  • Wildland Fire Safety
  • Fire Sprinkler Education Initiative
  • The Carbon Monoxide issue
  • Statewide Smoke Alarm Canvassing and Installation Initiative
